Ronald Beiner is a Professor of Political Science and Chair of the Department of Political Science at UTM. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. His books include Political Judgment (1983), What's the Matter with Liberalism? (1992), Philosophy in a Time of Lost Spirit (1997), and Liberalism, Nationalism, Citizenship (2003). He is also editor of Hannah Arendt's Lectures on Kant's Political Philosophy (1982), as well as Theorizing Citizenship (1995) and Theorizing Nationalism (1999). He has also co-edited Democratic Theory and Technological Society (1988), Kant and Political Philosophy (1993), Canadian Political Philosophy (2001), and Judgment, Imagination, and Politics (2001). He is currently writing a book entitled Civil Religion that explores how thinkers from Machiavelli to Rawls have addressed the problem of politics and religion.
