Gulay Goksel Yasar

After receiving her MA degree from the University of Waterloo (Canada) with a
thesis entitled “Contextualizing Hegel’s Notion of Freedom: an Analysis of Jean-
Paul Sartre on the Algerian Decolonization,” Gulay started graduate work towards
her PhD at the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2007. Her major is political
theory. Gulay’s research interests include problems of modern citizenship, identity politics, critical theory and
green political theory. She has been working as a teaching assistant for political
theory courses in the Department of Political Science.
